Attorney Anne Bibeau Elected to the Propeller Club Board of Governors

Vandeventer Black LLP partner, Anne G. Bibeau, has been elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the Propeller Club Port of Norfolk. Bibeau will serve on the Board until 2022.

“I’m excited to work with this dynamic group of industry leaders,” said Bibeau. “The Propeller Club is an important voice for the maritime industry.”

Bibeau’s professional activities include serving on the Board of Directors for Envision Lead Grow, the Board of Directors for TCC’s Educational Foundation, and the Executive Committee for the Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association. She is an active participant in the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction Law and the I’Anson-Hoffman Inn of Court. Ms. Bibeau also serves on the Virginia State Bar’s District Committee on Attorney Discipline.

Bibeau is the firm’s Labor & Employment Law Practice Group Manager. She focuses her practice on labor and employment law, alternative dispute resolutioncommercial litigationtax litigation, and the emerging hemp industry. She advises clients on the wage and hour issues, workplace discrimination and harassment, disability law, labor relations, and other labor and employment matters. In addition to her work as an advocate, Bibeau is a mediator and arbitrator and is on the American Arbitration Association’s Employment Law Arbitration Panel.

U.S. Coast Guard Veteran and Retired Law Enforcement Officer Joins Vandeventer Black

Vandeventer Black LLP is pleased to announce that  T. Duggan O’Dea has joined  the firm’s Richmond office. Duggan will concentrate his practice on providing general business and corporate legal counsel as well as representation related to banking, finance, and commercial real estate.

“We are glad Duggan has joined  our firm. He is a great addition to our legal team as a corporate attorney and business law counselor,” said Mike Sterling, Managing Partner.

Duggan assists companies throughout the full lifecycle of operations from formation to new acquisitions and dissolution or sale, including employment-related issues. He enjoys helping businesses through complicated legal and regulatory schemes to achieve their goals.

Duggan is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and, in addition to his military service, is a retired law enforcement officer, having served as a deputy sheriff, Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (ABC) special agent, and a master police officer.
