Adam concentrates his practice in Workers’ Compensation defense and labor and employment law. He primarily works with insurance carriers and self-insured employers defending workers’ compensation claims filed pursuant to the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act.

Adam has litigated multiple claims before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission, Court of Appeals, Department of Labor and the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs. He also works with risk managers, human resource professionals and executives on preventive strategies. He is a frequent lecturer on Workers’ Compensation issues. Some of Adam’s notable engagements include representing some of the region’s largest insurance carriers, mutual associations and third party administrators.

Adam is admitted to practice in Virginia, the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a member of the Norfolk & Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Virginia and American Bar Associations (Labor & Employment and Workers’ Compensation Sections), as well as the Virginia State Bar and the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys. He is past chair of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorney’s Workers’ Compensation Section and served a three year term on the organization’s Board of Directors as the Tidewater Regional director. Adam is actively involved in firm management.
