Ashley is a principal at Woods Rogers Vandeventer Black (WRVB) and has a multifaceted practice, concentrated in medical malpractice defense, personal injury defense, professional licensing, and professional liability defense.

Ashley has developed a complex skillset over the course of her career. She has extensive experience defending doctors, nurses, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and other health care entities/professionals in medical malpractice litigation in state and federal courts and also in regulatory board investigations and disciplinary matters. Ashley also routinely represents transportation providers (buses, taxis, and both emergency and non-emergency carriers), architects, engineers, and accountants in a variety of contexts. Ashley has litigated personal injury lawsuits and professional negligence claims throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia. She has also cultivated a unique depth of expertise representing A/E professionals and accountants before professional boards, advising clients with obtaining and maintaining professional licenses, and assisting businesses and professionals with regulatory compliance.

Ashley earned her J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she received the Orrell-Brown Award for Clinical Excellence, CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for receiving the highest grade in multiple subjects, and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. While a student, Ashley was a member of the McNeill Law Society (an honorary academic society reserved for law students who are ranked in the top 10% of their law school class), the Moot Court Board, the Women’s Law Student Association, and the Virginia Bar Association. She served as the Chancellor of the Exchequer for the McNeill Law Society, the Symposium Chair for the University of Richmond Law School Council of the Virginia Bar Association, and an Associate and Manuscripts Editor with the University of Richmond’s Journal of Global Law and Business.

Ashley earned her B.A. with distinction from the University of Virginia where she double majored in Political Theory and Psychology. She was the president of the Virginia Themis Society, a member of the Psi-Chi National Honor Society in Psychology, and received the Psychology Research Excellence Award for her research related to the study of political psychology.
