Zach works with the firm’s Business & Corporate Transactions, Cybersecurity & Data Privacy, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Trusts & Estates practice groups, specializing in contract drafting and negotiation, corporate formation and governance, property rights, and real estate. He represents startup companies, closely held businesses, and public companies. Zach handles a range of corporate and business matters for industries including commercial real estate, high tech, biotechnology, services, and manufacturing.

A Salem, Virginia native, Zach began his career at Woods Rogers Vandeventer Black (WRVB) as a summer associate in 2014 and joined the firm after completing a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Robert J. Humphreys of the Court of Appeals of Virginia. He also served as an extern for the Honorable Glen E. Conrad in the Western District of Virginia, and later for the Honorable David B. Carson in the 23rd Judicial Circuit of Virginia. Zach also interned in the Office of General Counsel at Advance Auto Parts, Inc.

Zach earned his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he became a member of the Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Distinguished Lecture Series Board, serving as its co-chair during his third year. Zach was an active member of the Federalist Society, serving as its Vice-President during his final year, and was also a member of the Ted Dalton Inn of Court.

Prior to pursuing his law degree, Zach served on the congressional staffs in Washington, D.C. of the Honorable Robert W. Goodlatte and H. Morgan Griffith, respectively. While on staff, Zach obtained a Master of Arts in Strategic Security Studies from the College of International Security Affairs, National Defense University at Ft. McNair, Washington, D.C., with concentrations in counterterrorism and international strategic security.

In the community, Zach is a member of the Rotary Club of Salem and serves on the Boards of Directors of The First Tee of the Roanoke Valley and Salem Family YMCA. He also serves as chair of the Electoral Board for the City of Salem.
