Vandeventer Black LLP attorney W. Thomas Chappell was recently recognized by Virginia Lawyers Weekly as one of the ‘Up & Coming Lawyers’ of 2019. According to the publication, this award is given to attorneys with less than 10 years in their practice who are establishing “a name for themselves, go above and beyond, and display the ambition, drive, determination and accomplishments that set them apart among their peers,” allowing them to make a mark in their community and profession.

“Thomas is an exceptional associate that has provided exemplary service and great results for our firm’s clients,” said Michael L. Sterling, Managing Partner.

Chappell’s practice focuses on general civil litigation in both state and federal courts.  His experience includes representing clients in cases involving trusts and estates, maritime issues, collections, and real estate.  Further, he has a strong background in appellate litigation at both the state and federal level through his experience as a former appellate law clerk and is frequently involved with the firm’s appellate work.
