Vandeventer Black is proud to help sponsor the formation of the Virginia Association of Environmental Professionals (VAEP).  VAEP will be a nonprofit interdisciplinary organization focused on providing Virginia environmental professionals a peer network and collaboration forum.  Operating as a chapter of the National Association of Environmental Professionals, VAEP will serve as a professional network of environmental professionals throughout the Commonwealth, and help the environmental community keep current with changes in science, law, and policy.

“The vision of VAEP is to encourage greater collaboration and socialization among the extensive environmental professional community throughout Virginia,” said Joe Romero of Vandeventer Black’s Environmental Law Business Line.  “Environmental considerations are a critical component to many economic, political, and societal issues, and environmental professionals play an important role in informing those decisions.  To help environmental professionals provide the highest standard of support in environmental decision making, VAEP will serve as a conduit for environmental professionals in Virginia to share ideas, expand their network of professional contacts, and exchange information with colleagues in industry, government, and academia.  Just as importantly, VAEP will serve as a network of experienced professionals that can help mentor new members of the environmental community.”

VAEP organizers will host virtual and live informational meetings in the coming months further articulate the vision of the organization, obtain feedback, and gauge interest.  The first meeting is being planned in Virginia Beach on March 2, 2022.

We encourage environmental professionals to review the attached information flyer. If you would like to learn more about VAEP or are interested in becoming a member, please contact Joe Romero, Vandeventer Black, LLP, (757) 446-8511, jromero@wrvblaw.com.
