Vandeventer Black’s Cosby Named Chairman of Richmond Fisher House Foundation

Richmond, VA (June 17, 2014)James C. Cosby, partner of the law firm Vandeventer Black LLP, has recently been named Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Richmond Fisher House Foundation. Cosby will serve as Chairman for a two year term.

The Richmond Fisher House and Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides extended stay lodging at no cost to the families of those veterans receiving treatment at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA hospital in Richmond. Since opening in 2008, over 2,000 families have utilized the accommodations. On average, the length of stay is 12-14 days, with some stays extended as long as one year.

Mr. Cosby has practiced in the areas of commercial litigation, employment and intellectual property since completing a judicial clerkship to the Hon. Charles S. Russell of the Supreme Court of Virginia.  He serves as the managing partner of the firm’s Richmond office.  He is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and the University of Richmond School of Law.  Additionally, he has served on the Board of Directors of the University of Richmond Law School Association and as an Adjunct Professor of Law, and has held leadership positions with the Bar Association of Richmond and the Greater Richmond Chamber.
