The Community Associations Institute (CAI) recently elected Vandeventer Black attorney, Jeremy Moss, as Chair of the Virginia Legislative Action Committee (VALAC). Moss was already serving as Vice Chair of the committee.
“What first inspired me to join CAI was its mission, which I believe in strongly. A mission that I will continually work to achieve through client counseling, inspiring professionalism, effective leadership and responsible citizenship of community members and volunteer leaders.” said Moss.
Moss became actively involved with VALAC in 2009 by providing legislative counseling and serving as a registered lobbyist for the committee until 2013, later being appointed as a Delegate.
Among the many important functions of this role, providing accurate, timely and influential input to Virginia legislators and the public at large is crucial. Moss’s mission for the committee includes the expansion of VALAC through the appointment of additional community association volunteer leaders to the committee and focus on education and outreach.
“Jeremy is a fantastic asset to our team. He’s an accomplished attorney who seeks contribute to his profession, the industry and those around him. In addition, it speaks volumes about the depth and commitment of our firm to have two attorneys serve as Chair of VALAC. I had the honor of serving as Chair from 2008 to 2011 and it’s been a pleasure to continue collaborating with an active member on the committee,” added Deborah Casey, Partner and the firm’s Business Department Manager.
Throughout the years, many of the Vandeventer Black’s attorneys have been recognized as leaders in the legal profession and appointed as members of boards, governing bodies, and fellowships within different organizations in the national, state and local community. Their active involvement and support to the community has been key in the firm’s social responsibility.
