Vania Ratliff Joins Vandeventer Black LLP


Vandeventer Black has hired Vania Ratliff for its Norfolk office to practice in the firm’s litigation group. She received her J.D. from Marshall-Wythe School of Law, College of William & Mary, where she served as vice-president of the Black Law Student Association and as a member of the Bill of Rights Journal.

“Vania has a deep a sense of responsibility, commitment and professionalism; characteristics shared by our entire team of attorneys,” said Michael L. Sterling, Managing Partner.

Ratliff also competed on the school’s National Moot Court Team and served on the Moot Court board as the 2017-2018 Bushrod Justice. While attending law school, Vania worked in the general counsel’s office of Campus Crusade, Inc. and served as a judicial extern in the Norfolk Circuit Court. Before attending law school, Vania earned her B.A. (magna cum laude) in Political Science from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Vania is also a longtime Virginia resident. When she is outside the office, she is an active member at her local church.
